Lucy and Zeke’s first litter is developing exactly as we had hoped. These puppies are such a beautiful reflection of both of their parents, and we’ve been thrilled with how they’re maturing.
We recently reached out to families across the country for updated weights and photos, and it’s been so much fun watching those updates roll in. One of the reasons I love repeating pairings is because they give families like you a much clearer picture of what to expect. While every puppy is an individual, having real growth data and seeing how previous puppies have developed makes planning for your future family member so much easier.
So far, the smallest puppies at 8 months old are around 37 pounds, which means they’ll likely finish around 45–50 pounds. The largest puppy is already 57 pounds and is expected to mature around 70 pounds. Most of the litter, however, is currently in the 40–45 pound range and appears to be tracking toward an adult weight of approximately 55–60 pounds. Growth trends like these are incredibly valuable when you’re hoping for a dog within a particular size range. And honestly…just look how adorable they all are!
This pairing will also produce some puppies with very flat, low-maintenance furnished coats. If you love that softer, lighter furnishing like Callie, Meadow, or some of the puppies from Lucy and Zeke’s first litter (see the collage!), this may be the perfect litter for you.
