July 3rd, 2026 — Quarterly Newsletter

Three Bernedoodles wearing patriotic bandanas sit beneath a “Happy Fourth of July!” sign, surrounded by American flags and red, white, and blue decorations.
Red, white, blue—and Bernedoodles, too! Wishing everyone a safe and happy Fourth of July from our CWB family. 🇺🇸🐾

Hey everybody! Happy 4th of July from some of our nursery friends, moms and current puppies!! Sorry for the slight delay in this quarterly newsletter, but I hope you all have a safe and blessed holiday weekend!

It’s been a beautiful summer here in Central Wisconsin. While our spring plans didn’t unfold exactly as expected, we’ve loved every moment spent raising and caring for the wonderful litters that recently went home. As many of you know, dogs often have plans of their own, and this year has certainly been a reminder of that!

Through it all, I’m incredibly grateful for the patience, flexibility, and support of every family on our Master List as you wait for the right puppy to join your family. This year has taught me a great deal about patience and accepting the things I cannot control—all while doing my best to control as many aspects of my program as possible! It’s been a wild ride so far, so here’s hoping the second half of 2026 is a little more… predictable.

Thankfully, the second half of 2026 is shaping up to be an exciting one for our program. We have several remarkable litters on the way and are hopeful the months ahead will bring many more opportunities for families waiting to adopt. Our upcoming plans include a wide variety of sizes, colors, coat types, and pairings—including some exciting new Munchkin Bernedoodle options—to help match each family with the perfect puppy.

Let’s be honest, though… the variety is one of my favorite parts of breeding! Every pairing has the potential to produce something unique, and I absolutely love seeing each litter come to life. I also love educating, so I’m excited to use these upcoming litters to share more about genetics, ultras, furnishings, coat colors, and everything that makes each Bernedoodle so wonderfully unique over the next six months.

Beyond our upcoming litters, we’ve been hard at work improving every aspect of the CWB experience. This newsletter includes updates on our website redesign, nursery improvements, exciting nationwide puppy delivery adventures, and the continued growth of our team. We’ll also share more about our intensive training program, which continues to receive incredible feedback from families across the country.

There will be guardian opportunities, soonest being from Roo in a few weeks, so definitely check out these amazing pairs for anyone wanting a pet or to join our team as a guardian family!

Most importantly, we’ll introduce several new moms and dads joining our program this year. If you’re beginning to build your 2026 puppy wish list, you’ll definitely want to meet these amazing dogs and learn more about the future litters they will help create. I will be adding our newest dogs to the new website and will continue sharing more about each of these exciting pairings as they develop. I appreciate your patience as some of these things take time to put together (and since this newsletter is a bit late, you can appreciate I am still playing a bit of catch up! :P)

Let’s dive into the latest updates, upcoming litters including lots of ultras, bernedoodles of all sizes, plans for PUREBRED BERNESE and all of our current breeding plans, plus everything we know so far about what’s still to come at CWB in 2026!

With love, Jess (your CWB breeder)

Summer 2026 Puppies

Our first summer litters have begun heading home, and they are doing phenomenally! One of the greatest joys of our work is receiving updates from families as these puppies settle into their new homes and begin their next adventures.

Many of these puppies stayed with us for our extended training program, TTP PLUS, which gave us the opportunity to spend even more time watching their personalities develop and their confidence grow. Seeing firsthand how well they responded to training only reinforced what special puppies these litters truly are.

We’re incredibly proud of what these moms produced and look forward to future litters from them in the years ahead. From furnished to unfurnished coats and a variety of beautiful looks and personalities, these puppies showcased the wonderful diversity that makes our program so unique.

Check out our litters from Meadow, Penny, Jersey and Bruin!

We're Under Construction

Wooden wall framing under construction inside the new Central Wisconsin Bernedoodles nursery and puppy-training facility.
Exciting progress is underway on our new nursery and training space, designed to support puppy development, socialization, confidence building, and advanced training.

Big things are happening behind the scenes at CWB!

Over the past several months, we’ve been working on two major projects designed to improve the experience for both our families and our puppies. The first is our completely redesigned website. While the content you know and love will remain, we’re giving everything a fresh new look, a more intuitive layout, and easier ways to access information. We’re especially excited about the addition of our new blog, which will allow us to share more educational content, program updates, puppy development information, and behind-the-scenes stories. The new website will also better connect all aspects of our program—including more information about our nonprofit efforts—in one streamlined, easy-to-navigate location.

Speaking of the website, the new design went live today!! I hope you love it as much as we do, but with anything new, there will be some bugs to work through and it will take some time to re-learn things. I know I have my work cut out personally, so please be patient as we are all learning the new layout. Your feedback is ALWAYS APPRECIATED and as we are rolling this out, we are open to any constructive thoughts you care to share. I am super excited with how this came together so that we can continue to share leading edge material in the most cohesive way. Let us know what you think of it!

At the same time, construction is underway on our brand-new nursery and training space. As our training program continues to grow and thrive, we wanted to create an environment that allows us to provide the most intensive, hands-on training opportunities possible for our puppies. This expanded space has been designed with puppy development, socialization, confidence building, and advanced training in mind, helping us continue to raise exceptional puppies while supporting families through every stage of the transition home.

Both projects represent significant investments in the future of our program and our commitment to continually improving what we offer. We’re hopeful to have the new nursery and training spaces completed later this summer. While we’re not quite ready for the official reveal, progress is happening every day, and we look forward to sharing more photos, updates, and behind-the-scenes glimpses as these projects come to life.

Stay tuned—there are some exciting changes on the horizon!

"More Than Just a Puppy" Delivery Service

One of the most exciting parts of our continued nationwide growth has been finding new ways to personally support our puppy families long after they choose their puppy.

This year, we’ve added a unique option that has quickly become one of our favorite parts of the program: personal puppy delivery with optional in-home training support.

Rather than simply arranging transportation, we’re able to personally bring your puppy home and spend time with your family as you begin this exciting new chapter. Families can choose to include one-on-one training guidance right in their home, allowing us to review foundational skills, answer questions, provide an extra set of experienced eyes, and help set everyone up for success from day one.

This personalized experience has been especially valuable for families with children, creating confidence and connection from the very beginning.

Recently, I had the privilege of personally delivering a puppy to a wonderful family in Massachusetts. By the time you’re reading this newsletter, I’ll have also completed a trip to Seattle, with Virginia coming up next in August. Every trip reminds me how grateful I am for the incredible families who trust us with such an important decision.

Here is what Mayzie's family had to say:

“We are still pinching ourselves over this whole experience. From day one, working with Jess and CWB has been nothing short of incredible — but when they flew to Massachusetts to bring us our Mayzie and spent two days with us, it took everything to a whole new level. What could have been a stressful, overwhelming transition was genuinely fun. Jess and Attie didn't just drop off our puppy and wave goodbye — they set up her playpen and kennel, got her toys and food all sorted, helped us decode some mysterious puppy poop , and actually taught us how to keep the training going at home. And it worked! My kids have taken the lead on it, Mayzie is unbelievably well-behaved, and everyone who meets her cannot believe we just got her. It's like bringing a newborn home and having your L&D nurses come with you. That's the only way I can describe it. We are so much more settled than I ever imagined we'd be at this stage. Mayzie is the best, and it's because she came from the best.”

As our Bernedoodle family continues to grow across the country, we’re committed to finding meaningful ways to stay connected and provide support long after pickup day. Whether you’re local to Wisconsin or welcoming a puppy hundreds of miles away, our goal remains the same: helping your puppy transition smoothly into a happy, confident, and well-loved member of your family.

Be sure you look for our Seattle highlight video and their personalized feedback on our social media pages SOON!!

The Success of TTP Plus

One of the greatest joys this year has been watching so many families embrace TTP Plus. What started as an opportunity to provide a little extra support has become one of the most meaningful parts of our program, with more than 75% of our families choosing to continue into the second 10 days.

We often say the first 10 days build the foundation, but the second 10 days are where mastery begins. This is when puppies gain confidence through repetition, strengthen their communication skills, and begin responding with consistency instead of simply understanding what is being asked.

One of the compliments we hear most often is that families have never experienced this level of support from a breeder before. That means the world to us. It’s also why so many families find us from across the country—not just for a puppy, but because they value the education, guidance, and relationship that continues long after their puppy comes home.

Check out Whiskey's testimonial:

"Enrolling our Bernedoodle Whiskey in the TTP+ program was an absolute game-changer for our entire household. We believe this program set us up for success by providing structured, private school like attention from the dedicated CWB team for us to continue building on as a family. Whiskey came home with us as a confident companion. If you are looking to set your pup up for a lifetime of success, we cannot recommend the TTP+ program enough!"

We’re incredibly grateful that so many families recognize the value of those extra 10 days. TTP Plus gives us additional time to help each puppy reach a greater level of confidence and mastery while giving families even more education, coaching, and encouragement before they begin life together.

Thank you for trusting us with such an important part of your puppy’s journey. Your confidence in our program continues to inspire us to grow, improve, and provide the very best start possible. Especially during a year that has tested us in unexpected ways, your continued support and the confidence you place in our program have been a powerful reminder that the work we do here truly matters, so THANK YOU!!

Family Fun Day 2026

Central Wisconsin Bernedoodles families gather with their dogs and children for a group photo outdoors at Family Fun Day 2026.
Family Fun Day 2026 brought together CWB families from near and far for a joyful day of reconnecting, making new friends, and celebrating the incredible community built around our dogs. 🐾💚

Our recent Family Fun Day was everything we hoped it would be and more. The post from FFD 2026 is available HERE.

Once again, families traveled from near and far to spend the day together, reconnect, meet new families, and meet lots of incredible dogs. It was especially fun to see puppies from past litters all grown up, meet some of our adult dogs, and celebrate the incredible community that has grown around our program.

One of the most rewarding parts of the day was seeing the friendships and connections that continue long after puppy pickup day. What began as families searching for the perfect companion has grown into a supportive and welcoming Bernedoodle family that spans the country.

This year’s gathering was also especially meaningful as we announced the recipients of our very first Alexa Memorial Scholarship. Established to honor Alexa's memory, the scholarship celebrates individuals whose love for dogs has made or will make a meaningful difference in their lives and communities.

The day was filled with laughter, wagging tails, shared stories, and heartfelt moments that reminded us why we love what we do. We are incredibly grateful for every family who joined us and helped make the event such a tremendous success.

Thank you for being part of our journey and for helping create a community that feels more like family every year.

Many of you know that giving back has always been an important part of what we do.

Tethered by Grace Inc., the nonprofit arm of CWB, was created to help extend that mission by connecting incredible dogs with opportunities to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others.

If you have a heart for dogs, service, and giving back to your community, I encourage you to learn more about the Alexa Memorial Scholarship and the opportunities it provides. Be sure to read the scholarship post for the full story.

Our new Tethered by Grace website is currently rolling out, with new content, resources, and ways to get involved being added regularly. Check back often as we continue to grow and share more about our mission—we’d love to have you be part of it.

As Tethered by Grace continues to grow, we’re actively looking for passionate people who want to help shape the future of our nonprofit. Our volunteer Board of Directors will play a huge role in building this organization, with the potential for optional paid positions as the foundation grows.

Over the years, I’ve had conversations with so many of you about your passion for therapy work, community outreach, fundraising, nonprofit leadership, marketing, education, and so many other incredible talents. The problem is…I can’t remember every conversation or who expressed interest!

So here’s my official call-out: If you’ve ever thought, “I’d love to be involved,” please reach out to me! Whether you have previous board experience, work in the therapy dog world, have nonprofit or business experience, or simply have a heart for our mission and want to make a difference, I’d love to hear from you.

We’re also looking for future podcast guests and other volunteers as we continue to expand, so don’t hesitate to connect. You never know where your unique gifts might fit into this exciting new chapter!

Help Share the CWB Difference

Screenshots of the Bernedoodle Owners Group and Unfurnished Bernedoodle Group on Facebook, encouraging CWB families to share their experiences and help others discover the CWB difference.

One of my favorite questions to ask during the interview process is, “How did you find us?”

More often than not, the answer is simple: another CWB family.

While we’re proud of the puppies we raise, what truly sets Central Wisconsin Bernedoodles apart is the entire journey. From the intentional way we raise and socialize each litter, to preparing families before their puppy comes home, to the training foundation we build and the continued guidance we provide after go-home day, our mission has always been about giving every puppy—and every family—the very best start possible.

The challenge is that many people searching for a puppy in their own area don’t even know we exist. Yet our CWB family has grown far beyond Wisconsin, with puppies living in homes all across the country. Every time one of you shares your experience, posts photos of your pup, answers questions in a Bernedoodle group, or tags Central Wisconsin Bernedoodles on social media, you’re helping another family discover a program they may have never found otherwise.

The most meaningful recommendations don’t come from us—they come from the families who have experienced the journey firsthand. Those genuine conversations carry more weight than any advertisement ever could.

Will you help us spread the mission?

The coolest part in all of this- so many of you are already doing this!!! I am so bad at thinking about this or even asking you to do it, but I have been tagged in so many forums and heard from countless people that YOU, our ambassadors, are out there already spreading our mission and your experience with friends and strangers!

I want you to know: I SEE YOU, I APPRECIATE YOU, I LOVE YOU!!! It truly means the world to me.

Here are a few easy ways to make a difference:

  • Share photos and updates of your CWB pup and tag Central Wisconsin Bernedoodles.

  • Recommend us when someone asks for breeder suggestions in Bernedoodle groups or online forums.

  • Answer questions about your own experience with our program.

  • Invite friends and family to follow along with our journey.

(Pictured here I have included two of the most popular discussion forums that I follow, but there are countless others!)

Every post, comment, tag, and recommendation helps spread not only the CWB name, but also our mission of raising confident, well-prepared puppies and supporting families long after they bring their puppy home. Together, we can continue growing a community that reaches families nationwide and helps elevate the standard of responsible breeding for years to come.

Thank you for being such an important part of the CWB family. We truly couldn’t do it without you.

Let's Meet the Puppies in Our Nursery & Learn About the Pups That Are Coming Soon

Now for the fun part…let’s take a look at the litters currently growing up in our nursery!

We still have limited availability, so keep reading to see what is currently available. If any puppies remain AFTER SELECTIONS TAKE PLACE, at that time we can post actual available puppies. For now though, it's just saving spots in any given litter with the option to choose one on Selection Day, so look for those "OPEN SPOTS."

If you join our waitlist now, you may be able to secure one of these currently available spots. And if one of these litters isn’t quite the right fit, don’t worry—we have many exciting litters planned over the next 3–6 months with something for just about everyone.

With so many incredible combinations on the horizon, joining our waitlist now gives you the best priority for both current and upcoming litters. While it’s sometimes possible to join a litter after the puppies arrive, the best selection opportunities almost always go to families who planned ahead.

If you’ve been waiting for the right time, this is it!

Unique Unfurnished Colors

In Callie’s upcoming litter, along with several of our exciting fall pairings, we’re hoping to showcase an incredible variety of unfurnished Bernedoodle colors! There are so many unique and beautiful possibilities, and we’re excited about the chance to produce some truly rare and stunning coats.

In addition to the classic tricolor look, these litters have the potential to include red, brown, sable, brindle, and merle puppies. Of course, Mother Nature always has the final say, so we’ll have to wait and see what surprises these litters bring!

To give you an idea of the possibilities, we’ve put together a collage featuring many of these gorgeous color variations. If you’re not quite sure how to tell them apart, keep an eye on our social media—we’ll be sharing informative posts that explain the different coat colors and patterns.

Please note that some of the dogs pictured are not from our program and are included simply to showcase the beautiful range of colors that can occur in unfurnished Bernedoodles.

The variety is truly amazing, and we can’t wait to see what these upcoming litters have in store!

Remaining 2026 Litter Plans

The remainder of our 2026 plans are listed below! As always, these are my best “crystal ball” predictions. Dogs like to keep us humble, so plans occasionally shift as we make the best decisions for our program, our dogs, and, most importantly, our families.

With so many exciting varieties planned, families who join our Master List early will have highest priority for these incredible pairings. One of the features I’m most excited about with our new website redesign is the ability to follow each litter’s journey in real time and get a much clearer picture of upcoming availability as litters develop.

Many of our upcoming litters have similar sizes, colors, and coat types, so if one of these pairings catches your eye, your best move is to submit your application now. That way, we can complete your phone interview before puppies arrive and I begin filling these litters.

As always, we are very intentional about the breeding pairs we choose, and if our waitlist does not indicate a need for any of these specific crosses and/or we need to scale back some of these litters, we will absolutely do so. This is one of the biggest reasons getting on our master list EARLY IS SO ESSENTIAL.

No matter which direction these plans take, one thing never changes: our commitment to thoughtfully raising exceptional puppies for exceptional families.
